چکیده
This work gives a first insight into the potential of Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model to provide high-resolution vertical profiles for land surface temperature (LST) retrieval from thermal infrared (TIR) remote sensing. WRF numerical simulations were conducted downscale NCEP Climate Forecast System Version 2 (CFSv2) reanalysis profiles, using two nested grids with horizontal resolutions 12 km (G12) 3 (G03). We investigated utility these atmospheric correction TIR data LST estimation, moderate resolution transmission (MODTRAN) Landsat 8 TIRS10 band. The accuracy evaluation was performed 27 clear-sky cases over radiosonde station in Southern Brazil. included comparative analysis NASA’s Atmospheric Correction Parameter Calculator (ACPC) web-tool obtained directly CFSv2 reanalysis. parameters ACPC, followed by those CFSv2, better agreement calculated situ radiosondes. When applied radiative transfer equation (RTE) retrieve LST, best results (RMSE) were, descending order: (0.55 K), ACPC (0.56 G12 (0.79 G03 (0.82 K). Our findings suggest that there is no special need increase aiming at RTE-based retrieval. However, still satisfactory promising, encouraging further assessments. endorse use well-known recommend single-channel

Land Surface Temperature Retrieval from LANDSAT data using Emissivity Estimation
Land surface temperature (LST) is an essential factor in many areas like global climate change studies, urban land use/land cover, geo-/biophysical and also a key input for climate models. LANDSAT 8, the latest satellite from LANDSAT series, has given lot of possibilities to study the land processes using remote sensing. In this study an attempt has been made to estimate LST over Chittoor distr...

In this study, the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model is coupled with the Advanced Canopy– Atmosphere–Soil Algorithm (ACASA), a high-complexity land surface model. Although WRF is a state-of-the-art regional atmospheric model with high spatial and temporal resolutions, the land surface schemes available in WRF, such as the popular NOAH model, are simple and lack the capability of repr...
متن کاملRetrieval of Vertical Temperature Profiles in the Atmosphere
In this paper a new regularization technique is introduced and applied to the problem of retrieval of vertical temperature profiles in the atmosphere from remote sensing data. This is a key issue in Meteorology since it provides an important input for weather forecasting models, mainly in the Southern Hemisphere, where there are large areas uncovered by data collecting ground stations. The new ...
متن کاملLand Surface Temperature Retrieval from the Medium Resolution Spectral Imager (MERSI) Thermal Data
A single channel land surface temperature (LST) retrieval algorithm named Single Channel Water Vapor Dependent (SCWVD) method was presented for Medium Resolution Spectral Imager (MERSI) thermal infrared band aboard FengYun-3A (FY-3A) satellite. Water Vapor Content (WVC) is the only input parameter in the algorithm assuming the surface emissivity is known. NCEP reanalysis monthly mean datasets a...
